The Rockridge TJ’s Line Watch is coming to an end.

Can you believe it’s been over a year since we started quietly streaming the line at the Rockridge Trader Joe’s? Wait. Actually, this has been the longest year ever, so maybe it’s not that surprising. 😬 In any case, the lines at TJ’s aren’t nearly as long as they used to be, and life is finally starting to get back to normal.

Therefore, we will be officially ending the Rockridge TJ’s line camera, effective May 31. If things get weird again, we will consider coming back. Fingers crossed that does not happen! Also, get vaccinated, people!! 💉💪❤️

This project has been a big source of joy for me over this past year. I was able to take something that was initially stress-inducing (the sight of the long TJ’s line), and turn it into something that helped people. Also, when Trader Joe’s decided to move the line out of view from my apartment (in part because of shade, and probably also because they didn’t love this project), I had the opportunity to meet a seriously amazing neighbor, whom I hope to remain friends with long after masks are no longer a thing. (NBD, but we’ve already hung inside without masks, and I am officially one of the cool girls now! 👯‍♀️)

Most importantly, this project has raised over $6,500 for the Alameda County Community Food Bank! That’s still a bit short of our final goal of $10k, but it’s well over our initial goal of $1,000. It’s also considerably more than my first car was worth—and, since that’s the metric I use to gauge every big purchase I’ve ever made, I am beyond satisfied!

One last ‘hurrah’ before we go.

Here’s the thing. Anticlimactic goodbyes are boring, and this project deserves to go out with less whimper and more bang. So, in the spirit of wishing COVID-19, rampant food insecurity, and lines at grocery stores everywhere, a respectful ‘bye Felicia’, I invite you to make one last contribution

While supplies last (and I literally have about 600 of these), anyone who donates to our GoFundMe will receive a **FREE COVID VACCINE CARDHOLDER** for every $5 donated. So, if you want one card holder, donate $5. If you want to be that cool stranger at the party, handing these out all shot girl summer, then go ahead and throw us a cool $250. 🤑

As always, your donations are tax-deductible and will directly benefit the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
